Week 9: Finishing on Adobe

This week on Adobe I worked to completely finish the editing portion of the film project. Olivia was able to find audios to go with the film, so I imported the audios and placed them where I thought they would be good, and where Olivia had suggested putting them. I also needed to figure out with the audio how to adjust some clips. So, I asked Mr. Z how and just learned how to audio gain on certain clips. I adjusted the sound on the music I imported to be louder in some areas or be quieter in order to hear the original audio at the same time. Also, with sound in the same clip being louder I could either take the eraser tool and snip that portion then adjust the audio gain, or I had Mr. Z show me how to adjust the sound of one part of a clip by dragging points into the sound and adjusting those points, which was smoother than just snipping it. After this, to make the audio smoother I included exponential fades into the audio to either fade the sound in or out. In Along with the audio, I also put in video transitions to cleaner transition into one scene to the next. I used transitions like cross fades, fade to black, and film dissolves.

Aside from transitions I also added our texts to the film, where in the beginning I used our production name "Skibbidy Productions." The I also added the credits in the movie as well which were things like Directed by, Edited by, Cinematographer, and Directors. Finally with the texts I put our title of the film at the end named "Birthday Bloodbath." For this title I wanted to have some type of font that had blood dripping from it to make it seem scarier. I went on Adobe Creative Cloud and looked at the different fonts they had there and chose the one I liked which was called "shloppy shlop." With this, when I showed Mr. Z the project, he suggested adding zooms on some clips to enhance the scene or draw the audience's attention towards what a character was saying. So, I added a zoom on the character smoking weed out of a window and when Harper (the main characters best friend) says something important in the bathroom scene. Lastly, I then went back and fixed a few last things with the editing, including trimming a few spots of the bathroom scene that were not necessary. While also removing an image of a phone in the bathroom mirror from when we were recording. I looked up a YouTube video of how to mask this object!

This is a picture on how I fixed the problem of the phone in the mirror on Adobe. I first duplicated the video to the top then selected the top video. On the left under effect controls and under opacity the 3rd key to the right it looks like a sort of clip is the tool I used. It is called free draw bezier, and I used it to trace around the wall next to the phone, then after that used the position button to move it up, covering the phone.
This is an image of the font I used on Adobe for our movie title. It is called shloppy shlop, and I found it on Adobe Creative Cloud, because I was looking for a sort of bloody horror font.
