In this first part of the story board, we showed our original idea of It starting with a tear-stained girl, drenched in blood, walking down the street in front of an abandoned building (camera angle is very low pointing up at her from the waist up). Hair clumped together from the blood, showing no emotion, fatly limping down the street. She doesn’t try to scream for help or run, showing that she has slowly lost everything and/or gave up. It's gloomy and dark but not too dark you can't see her face expressions. Lamps are illuminating her face and her background settings. The camera slowly goes into an over the shoulder shot for the audience to see a truck slowly turning the corner with its headlights on and just starts coming at her. The camera then transitions into a close-up of the girl to see her breathing heavily as she hears the roars coming from the truck. After a few seconds the camera goes back into an over the shoulder shot because she faces her back towards the camera and stares at the headlights just coming straight at her. While this is happening, the monologue is a sad quote by the main character. After the quote ends the movie just slowly starts going in reverse (she walks backwards, car disappears, etc.) to the “beginning” of the movie and it's the main character's 17th birthday. The credits start playing here (casted by, directed by, cast is, etc.). The camera follows the main character into her house (tracking shot from waist up)
Continuing from the last part of the story board, the main character opens the door and turns on the lights (camera shot is from the point of view of the friends so basically the camera is just facing her. (we see her whole body), her friends and mom start to sing happy birthday (when she flicks on the lights the camera faces towards the friends). The grandma is in the center holding the cake. The camera then goes off to the side pointing at the main character and the group while the main character walks towards the cake (as they are singing happy birthday). The camera goes behind the cake so we can see the cake, but the camera is focusing on the main character blowing out the candles. The main character is wearing a red dress (to foreshadow her drenched in blood) while her friends are wearing something like jeans and a dress top. When she blows out the candles that could quickly transition to a different scene where she is having a good time with everyone and laughing (the camera is on the fan, and they will be talking in one position and slowly fade into them doing each other's nails and then fade into them playing board games. It will also cut into a few scenes of them drinking and a character smoking weed out of the window.
The main character then goes to the bathroom with a friend giggling (camera is tracking from waist up from behind her) and loudly closes the door in the cameras face. The camera goes through the door to see the friend pulling out a little bag from her pocket and pours out white crushed up cocaine onto the counter and the friend and main character snort it up while the other is drinking. (party music playing?) Right before the beat drops main characters little sister knocks loud on the door (the camera is still on the girl's doing drugs and when they hear the knock they start laughing) the camera then shows the outside with the sister saying "Grandma is saying goodnight! Hurry up!” Then the girls start giggling (obviously drunk) trying to hide the alcohol and cocaine. The girls then come out of the bathroom and when they walk past the camera from outside the door it cuts to the end of the night, they tell her grandma goodnight, and the camera is inside the room showing the grandma and girls pretending to chill out and watch a movie.
After that happens, their bedroom door closes on the camera (camera was facing outside the door looking into the room when they were saying goodnight and the camera zooms into the door as soon as it closes (hear big bang) and quickly transitions into a cut away where it shoots to a clock to show time to make the movie seem like it has an order to it. The camera shows the clock for a little bit while you can hear the girls giggling or talking in the background and you can hear the window open (time changes to the next min) and the camera slowly moves over to look out the window and shows all the girls outside while the main character closes the window. While the girls are running to their car you can see a man across the street just standing there. The camera stays at the window until you see the girl's car zoom past the window. It cuts to the girls standing outside the abandoned building with their flashlights on. First, it's a shot behind them with their flashlights on staring at the abandoned building, then It's a close-up while they talk and once, they are ready to go in.
The flashlight then goes right in the cameras face and that transitions to the girls inside of the abandoned building walking down a hallway holding their flashlights looking around. The camera is on the ground and as the girls walk down the hallway laughing and talking with intense music. The camera then cuts into a waist-shoulder length high focusing on the main character with the other girls behind her, and then the girls walk past the camera and the camera slowly zooms into the back of the hallway until it focuses on the man creepily standing in the back of the hallway which is a fixed long shot into shallow focus. He is smiling and has an axe in his hands while you can hear the girls giggling and talking in the background while the camera slowly zooms into his face. Then BOOM! Goes to black screen with dramatic music and shows movie title.
