Week 4: Key Moments + Reflection

On our filming days we were able to meet on Monday 2/19 and Friday 2/23 in which we were able to film over half our scenes Monday (which was a school holiday) then re-record or record new/ missing scenes on Friday. I would want to say a key moment with our project so far was successfully having everyone talk and really get to know each other, causing the filming days to go by quick and easy. Before filming we usually went to either Chipotle, Chick-Fil-A, or Mcdonalds to eat before filming which allowed us all to get to know each other better which in turn also helped each of us play our parts more naturally, since in the film we would have to be interacting with each other a lot of the time.

During the production process it was definitely very fun to film with everyone. I believe since a few of us were friends before, and we were able to all come closer while filming it definitely made all of the difference when doing this project. Olivia and I also decided we wanted to allow everyone who we rallied together to put their input into the project and have control over what they were acting and saying. This allowed us to form new ideas while filming and also form our character stereotypes more efficiently. During filming everyone was also very comfortable with each other since we had got to know each other before hand, so it was very fun in between scenes when we all got to talk and laugh with each other.

Overall, our key moments were definitely getting everyone involved and forming relationships beforehand with each other to allow filming to go smoother and also get everyone to have fun recording so it seems like less of a chore. Also, it was a great idea to allow everyone to kind of have free range when filming so the clips seemed more authentic. So, to reflect, filming went very well on our two days that we met this week, and it seems like everyone is having fun so far and we have gotten quite a bit of our project done which as well is really good!

Week 9: Finishing on Adobe

This week on Adobe I worked to completely finish the editing portion of the film project. Olivia was able to find audios to go with the film, so I imported the audios and placed them where I thought they would be good, and where Olivia had suggested putting them. I also needed to figure out with the audio how to adjust some clips. So, I asked Mr. Z how and just learned how to audio gain on certain clips. I adjusted the sound on the music I imported to be louder in some areas or be quieter in order to hear the original audio at the same time. Also, with sound in the same clip being louder I could either take the eraser tool and snip that portion then adjust the audio gain, or I had Mr. Z show me how to adjust the sound of one part of a clip by dragging points into the sound and adjusting those points, which was smoother than just snipping it. After this, to make the audio smoother I included exponential fades into the audio to either fade the sound in or out. I...
