Week 5: Production Process + Reflection

For filming this week, we were able to meet on Wednesday 2/28 after school, which this day we really only refilmed the bathroom scenes in which we also added to for more character development. Before hand, we just had them do drugs and alcohol with the props we had and somewhat act drunk and laugh a lot. Instead of this we decided to add a little more dialogue between the two characters to get to know more of their personalities. The main character is more inexperienced, but still likes to fit in with the crowd, while her best friend in this film is super boy crazy and likes to party a lot. So, in this part of the 2-minute opening we decided to sort of develop their characters in this. In a few of the scenes I was able to help record I attempted to use the rule of thirds in a few scenes to direct the audience more towards what is happening in the film.

Other than filming, I've continued to work on the editing by continuing to add the scenes in order, and trim each of them to fit into the next scene. I also have begun to speed up the ariel shots of the characters partying in the bedroom and fade one of those clips into the next to create the vision of the fun party without taking up too much time of the film. I also started to unlink different clips and delete audios in scenes we will put music into. I haven't begun entering transitions, music, or adjusting sounds to certain clips, so that is on my list for the next few weeks to start editing.

Week 9: Finishing on Adobe

This week on Adobe I worked to completely finish the editing portion of the film project. Olivia was able to find audios to go with the film, so I imported the audios and placed them where I thought they would be good, and where Olivia had suggested putting them. I also needed to figure out with the audio how to adjust some clips. So, I asked Mr. Z how and just learned how to audio gain on certain clips. I adjusted the sound on the music I imported to be louder in some areas or be quieter in order to hear the original audio at the same time. Also, with sound in the same clip being louder I could either take the eraser tool and snip that portion then adjust the audio gain, or I had Mr. Z show me how to adjust the sound of one part of a clip by dragging points into the sound and adjusting those points, which was smoother than just snipping it. After this, to make the audio smoother I included exponential fades into the audio to either fade the sound in or out. I...
