Week 7: Production Process

During week 7, since it was spring break Olivia and I had everyone get together to help finish filming the last few scenes of our opening. We met at around 7 at our abandoned building location and originally planned to only film the scene of everyone outside the building and everyone exploring it then the "bad guy" appears. After filming those we realized we actually had enough time if we wanted to film the very first scene of our film which is having the main character Ivy limp with blood all over her in front of the building when the "bad guy" appears and hits her over the head with a bat. I already had the blood and props there with me, so we successfully filmed all of our remining scenes March 12th with just editing to focus on from here out.

To update about Olivia and I's relationship, nothing else was said over text then what I already explained, but when we met up to finish recording, we both seemed fine with each other. However, I still felt tension between us, since we hadn't really talked things through. When we filmed everything went great and it seemed like everyone had fun, and Olivia and I didn't talk as much with each other, but we elaborated on what was going on with the project without complication.

Before we filmed these last few scenes, we did have to change the setting of the abandoned building, because since I wasn't offering rides anymore the original location was too far away for everyone. This location was located near booker high, and UTC. So, we moved our location to a smaller abandoned building that was located near Sun Outdoors and was closer to everyone else. The old building was also beginning to be demolished with half of it already gone, so we were uncertain if it would stay standing until we filmed. Because of this we did change our location over break, but when we met, we finished all of our scenes!

Week 9: Finishing on Adobe

This week on Adobe I worked to completely finish the editing portion of the film project. Olivia was able to find audios to go with the film, so I imported the audios and placed them where I thought they would be good, and where Olivia had suggested putting them. I also needed to figure out with the audio how to adjust some clips. So, I asked Mr. Z how and just learned how to audio gain on certain clips. I adjusted the sound on the music I imported to be louder in some areas or be quieter in order to hear the original audio at the same time. Also, with sound in the same clip being louder I could either take the eraser tool and snip that portion then adjust the audio gain, or I had Mr. Z show me how to adjust the sound of one part of a clip by dragging points into the sound and adjusting those points, which was smoother than just snipping it. After this, to make the audio smoother I included exponential fades into the audio to either fade the sound in or out. I...
