Week 9: Finishing on Adobe

This week on Adobe I worked to completely finish the editing portion of the film project. Olivia was able to find audios to go with the film, so I imported the audios and placed them where I thought they would be good, and where Olivia had suggested putting them. I also needed to figure out with the audio how to adjust some clips. So, I asked Mr. Z how and just learned how to audio gain on certain clips. I adjusted the sound on the music I imported to be louder in some areas or be quieter in order to hear the original audio at the same time. Also, with sound in the same clip being louder I could either take the eraser tool and snip that portion then adjust the audio gain, or I had Mr. Z show me how to adjust the sound of one part of a clip by dragging points into the sound and adjusting those points, which was smoother than just snipping it. After this, to make the audio smoother I included exponential fades into the audio to either fade the sound in or out. I...

Week 9: CCR Production

This week for the creation of CCR's I really focused on preparing them and what app I will create them on and what CCR will go onto which app. After looking over each CCR I decided which one would be fit for each creation and app. In the end I decided to do CCR 1 with an interview on Adobe Premiere Pro, CCR 2 as a podcast on Adobe Audition, CCR 3 as a voiceover of a presentation on Sway (edited on Adobe Audition), and finally CCR 4 as a vlog video on YouTube (edited on Adobe Premiere Pro).  CCR #1:      For CCR #1 I went over to my sister-in-law's house to get her help to Interview me. Which we were able to successfully record a video with the CCR questions, and I was able to answer them. I then imported this interview into adobe and started trimming certain parts, because the video was around 10 minutes. I was able to trim it to 7 minutes, then adjust the sound throughout the interview, checking the levels of the video. After the sound was all co...

Week 8: Post-Production and CCR Production

We finished filming last week! Because of this, I uploaded all of the scenes in order and put them in the correct sequence over break after filming. This made it easy to begin going through and trimming clips, this week since our project was about 3 mins and 30 sec. I ended up meeting with Olivia in class and we were able to watch through the film and find clips we could trim or get rid of. We were able to trim it to around 2 mins and 40 sec. I continued to work on reaching this time limit on adobe and kept trimming, speeding up, or getting rid of unimportant clips. By the end of the week with all of this applied I cut it to 2 mins and 16 sec. Other than trimming, Olivia was able to find audios to include in our film; so, she added them onto her flash drive then transferred it to mine. I also attempted putting our production name and movie title on there as well and started adding few transitions. Next week to finish editing we just have to add audio and put in fina...

Week 7: Post-Production

This week we finished all of our filming, so we just needed to import the final clips into adobe, then add transitions, audio, and possibly cut out some time from out film. This week I was unfortunately very busy with work and family events; However, after we filmed out last few scenes, I imported them on adobe and put them in the correct place and trimmed a few scenes, so the film was shorter. But even with this, it was still about a 3-minute film. After I did this, I decided I would just leave the trimming, music, and transitions until next week when I could talk everything out with Olivia.     Since Olivia didn't have my flash drive, I went ahead and did the editing from my laptop at home, but since she wasn't editing, I had her find sounds to go over a few clips in the film. I was able to unlink a few clips and delete the audio, so when I sent Olivia a recording of the film on adobe, she was able to observe what clips needed music. Hopefully when we ge...

Week 7: Production Process

During week 7, since it was spring break Olivia and I had everyone get together to help finish filming the last few scenes of our opening. We met at around 7 at our abandoned building location and originally planned to only film the scene of everyone outside the building and everyone exploring it then the "bad guy" appears. After filming those we realized we actually had enough time if we wanted to film the very first scene of our film which is having the main character Ivy limp with blood all over her in front of the building when the "bad guy" appears and hits her over the head with a bat. I already had the blood and props there with me, so we successfully filmed all of our remining scenes March 12th with just editing to focus on from here out.     To update about Olivia and I's relationship, nothing else was said over text then what I already explained, but when we met up to finish recording, we both seemed fine with each other. However, I still felt te...
